It is often suggested that true friends are those who stick around when one is going through hard times. That much is true. Many an inmate has ended up alone despite the numerous texts and knocks on their door tearing them away from their loved ones when they were living the good life. However, what society seems to overlook is that it takes a special kind of friend who sticks around when one reaches the heights of success, all the more so if said friend does not perceive their own life to be anywhere near satisfactory. One's true friends stick around regardless of whether one is high flying or struggling, yet many have front row seats when a friend is down, but can't bear to watch when said friend shines!
